rian is a strong believer in the power of the voice; the singing voice to be more specific. To him, it is the ultimate creative tool of expression. A good vocalist can take the listener on many journeys and make them feel many things. Above all, a good vocalist can capture the attention of an entire audience and hold their attention with just one note.

As a vocal coach at GitterPicker, Brian is passionate about his belief that vocal lessons are for ANYONE.  If you have always wanted to sing but thought you were just a “shower singer” Brian can help you find your inner voice and show you ways to sing confidently in public. If you are already a singer and want to take you voice to the next level, Brian will work with you on ways to “take it up a notch.”  Perhaps you are hoping to sing in the community musical, join a chorus, sing back-up vocals in a band or perform for your church. Brian has helped many people realize their vocal dreams and can work with you to discover your talents.

Brian is a graduate of Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. He is also a veteran of many musical theater productions including Grease, Seussical the Musical, Cotton Patch Gospel, Fiddler on the Roof, Godspell Jr., and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, among others.  Through high school and college Brian taught piano and vocal at Kathy Sawyer Music Studio in Butler, PA.  Brian grew his roster of vocal students to more than 20 private lessons per week.

He approaches each student individually. Brian develops strategies of instruction for students of different ages, backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels. He emphasizes technical development by developing voices through a variety of vocal exercises and interactive teaching. And, Brian is comfortable teaching a variety of styles including classical, jazz, rock, pop and musical theater.

Brian is also fluent on both the piano and guitar and can help you to learn to sing while playing either instrument.  In additiona to vocal coaching, Brian is available for piano lessons and guitar lessons of all levels including beginner, intermediate and advanced.
