Our stage contains an 8 channel PA system by Guardian Audio, a 5 piece Sonor drum set, Sure SM58 microphones, and all the necessary hardware to crank it up. Jammers simply need to bring their instrument. Amplifiers are supplied by GitterPicker. Participants can bring a pedal board.
The Format This is an open jam night where jammers are methodically paired up with other jammers along with a GitterPicker instructor. The songs will typically be in a 1-4-5 format. It is recommended that any persons intersted in jamming become familiar with the songs listed in our jam list. This is not an event to showcase your band. You can request to play with other people but you should expect to be joined by other musicians as well.
Instruments Our stage will accomodate electric guitars, bass guitars, acoustic guitars (w/pickups), horns, harps, keyboards, and vocals. GitterPicker will supply the amplifiers. Jammers can bring their own pedal board. Microphones and PA inputs are supplied. A drum kit is in place. Keyboard players will need to supply their own keyboards.
Etiquette These jams are meant to teach living-room musicians how to play live with a rhythm section. This means that there will be a mix of experienced players along with beginners. The experienced jammers are asked to advise and provide support to the beginners. Chord changes and rhythms will be thoroughly explained before the songs begin. Each group of jammers will be on stage for approximately 15-20 minutes. This will typically allow for 3 songs. Solos should be no more than 36 bars.
The Songs We Play
Jammers will want to learn the list of songs below. GitterPicker instructors can work with all students to commit these songs to memory. All songs for each Pizza Jam will be chosen from this list.
